I found some leaked pictures of prototype Sprint QChat devices, most of which seem to be Sanyo phones. QChat is going to be Sprint's new push-to-talk(PTT) technology. QChat gives Sprint/Nextel a more advanced PTT as well as making Sprint CDMA compatible with Nextel IDEN. Sprint's previous walkie-talkie service, Readylink, was not compatible with Nextel IDEN. Person51 on the SprintUsers Forums posted these pictures. At first, I thought they were prototypes of the Sanyo Pro Series, but Person51 confirmed that they are test-only devices. One of the phones they are testing with is a Sanyo Katana II, only it has an added side button for PTT. Person51 also said Sanyo, Samsung, and Motorola are going to release phones at launch. Although he does not know about launch phones yet, he will update us.
Enjoy:
